Moving from pale open space into a deep brown-black area, the image remains abstract while suggesting sensations of the night sky, clouds, and gravity. In this work, countless layers of ballpoint-pen lines depict the accumulation of a day's time and the density of a world invisible in daylight. The work grew from the sensation of passing through the night while bearing the weight of innumerable stars overhead.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003e作家について \/ About the Artist\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e椛田ちひろは、武蔵野美術大学大学院造形研究科美術専攻油絵コースを修了し、現在は和光大学表現学部芸術学科で教鞭を執っています。筆を使わず指と手で描く絵画と、線を幾重にも重ねるボールペン画を並行して制作し、近年は鏡や水、映像を用いた作品にも展開しています。本作は、反復する線が像と空間を同時に生み出す初期のボールペン画の文脈から紹介します。\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eChihiro Kabata completed the oil painting course in the master's program at Musashino Art University and teaches in the Department of Art at Wako University. She works both with paintings made directly by hand and finger without brushes, and with ballpoint-pen drawings built from layered lines; recent projects also use mirrors, water, and video.
