The head of a harpy eagle emerges from the wall as a thin, irregular terracotta relief. Incised lines, tonal colouring, and the uneven edge convey both feathered texture and the raptor's sharp profile. The work retains sculptural volume while carrying the immediacy of drawing.
Born in Odawara, Kanagawa in 1994, Yu Seto completed both undergraduate and graduate studies in sculpture at Tokyo University of the Arts. Working primarily in terracotta, he leaves tactile marks and traces of making on wild-animal forms, using them to consider natural balance, the tension of life, and the relationship and distance between humans and other animals.
