SAGAKI Keita — Appearance Is a Scary but a Funny Man

2020 · Neo-Silkscreen · Edition 24 · H65.5 × W44.5 cm

The work takes an Edo-period senryu about a frightening-looking but amusing person as its motif. An imposing figure resolves, on closer inspection, into a multitude of charming small characters.

About the artist

SAGAKI Keita builds images from intricately drawn small characters, creating different impressions at a distance and up close.

A certificate of authenticity is included.

About the artist

Sagaki Keita
