About the Artist

Born in Kanagawa Prefecture, feebee began working as an illustrator in 2002 and shifted toward an artistic practice around 2015. Incorporating traditional techniques, the artist has developed paintings that reinterpret legendary sacred creatures from a contemporary perspective. A portrait series centered on people in contemporary society was introduced in 2022. The practice also extends to woodblock prints and character designs for art toys, including a collaboration with the Adachi Institute of Woodcut Prints on works made using traditional woodblock-printing methods. Selected solo exhibitions include Symbiosis in 2019, Cycle of Transformation in 2020, and Bitten from Within at roidworksgallery in 2022. Beyond these exhibitions in Japan, feebee has presented work at art fairs in Hong Kong, Beijing, and Paris. feebee has also been featured on BS Fuji’s Break Zenya, a television programme introducing contemporary artists and their work. This appearance can be viewed in the official programme video embedded on this page. feebee has also been featured on BS Fuji’s Break Zenya, a television programme introducing contemporary artists and their work.
