About the Artist

Born in 1972 in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture. After completing the Advanced Course in Ceramic Art and Science at Tajimi Industrial High School, Hayashi began producing three-dimensional works using ceramics as his primary medium. Known for his unique character-based expressions that blend humor with gravity, he has gained international recognition. His works are held in collections at the Victoria and Albert Museum (London), the Vallauris Ceramics Museum (France), and the International Ceramics Museum of Faenza (Italy). He serves as a faculty member at Tama Art University while actively exhibiting in Japan and abroad.

1972年岐阜県土岐市生まれ。多治見工業高等学校陛稼科学芸術専攻科修了後、陶を主要素材とした立体造形の制作を開始。ユーモアとシリアスさが交錯する独自のキャラクター表現で国際的な評価を得る。V&Aミュージアム（ロンドン）、ヴァロリス降馝芸術美術館（フランス）、ファエンツァ国際陶芸美術館（イタリア）などに作品が収蔵。多摩美術大学工芸学科教員。
