作家について / About the Artist
1997年宮城県仙台市生まれ。2019年東北芸術工科大学芸術学部美術科洋画コース卒業。日々出会う人々や身近な出来事を手がかりに、デジタル社会を生きる人間を描く。若者の装いや文化、価値観への肯定的な視点を制作に取り入れている。特徴的な青い画面には、空や海、宇宙とデジタル空間の両方が重なり、見る人の経験によって異なる印象が生まれる。roidworksgalleryで「Rebirth」（2022年）、「CARPE DIEM」（2023年）、「PRISM」（2024年）を開催。2021年には上野の森美術館での「THE WORLD OF UKIYO-E」に出品した。
Ryosuke Saito was born in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, in 1997 and graduated from the Western Painting course at Tohoku University of Art and Design in 2019. Drawing on people encountered in everyday life and the stories surrounding them, Saito paints contemporary life within a digital society. The work takes an affirmative view of young people's fashion, culture, and values. A distinctive use of blue connects associations with the sky, sea, and cosmos to the experience of digital space. These overlapping references leave room for each viewer's memories and experiences to shape how the paintings are perceived. Solo exhibitions at roidworksgallery include Rebirth in 2022, CARPE DIEM in 2023, and PRISM in 2024. Saito also participated in the group exhibition THE WORLD OF UKIYO-E at the Ueno Royal Museum in 2021. Ryosuke Saito has also been featured on BS Fuji’s Break Zenya, a television programme introducing contemporary artists and their work.
